Case Study: Swedbank
Working in Stockholm is fun. I'd thoroughly recommend that you visit at least once in your life. It's a beautiful city and shines in the summertime. Great food, drink etc.
I joined a team working through an agency - Brilliant Basics. (Now known as WongDoody).
As an experience, It's worth discussing how I came into the project, as it wasn't from the beginning. You have to spend some time establishing the facts the lay of the land and essentially ramp up with your product understanding quickly.
I can say this now with some level of candidness. It wasn't the smoothest onboarding and transition. The agency already had a UXer in place who wanted out. That's never usually a good sign. 😂
Swedbank is one of the largest banks operating in Sweden. There's one or even two branches or signs on most major street intersections. Offices are situated everywhere.
They have a vast customer base, ranging from individual account holders to large corporations. However, corporate customers had issues setting permissions for their users. There were no solutions to allow business bankers to have their staff members sign into accounts, see the relevant information, and access the appropriate data.
I set about designing a solution for how this could be managed and spent some time working with the team iterating on these designs. It's worth mentioning the central UX team that Swedbank had, primarily because they were incredibly helpful in supporting insights and things like language translation.
My time in Sweden ended with the company taking these insights and learnings forward. But unfortunately, it's hard to know if they rolled this out or released a future iteration of it.
Life of a contractor! I think I imparted some knowledge and good practices—a good experience.
